Job Summary
Tamarso Somaliland is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, enhance efficiency, and drive growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects, coordinating logistics, ensuring compliance, and optimizing operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of Tamarso’s solar energy projects in Somaliland.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control.
- Ensure smooth execution of projects within timelines and budget constraints.
- Project Coordination & Implementation
- Manage on-ground implementation of mini-grid and solar energy solutions.
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure project feasibility and sustainability.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Work with the Finance Manager to develop and track operational budgets.
- Optimize resource allocation and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and donor requirements.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor operational teams to achieve company goals.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and efficiency.
- Identify training needs and facilitate skill development for team members.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with government agencies, donors, and private sector partners.
- Represent Tamarso at industry events and meetings.
- Facilitate community engagement and awareness programs to promote solar adoption.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure safety protocols and environmental compliance are adhered to.
- Maintain operational documentation and reports for audits and regulatory reviews.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, project management, or logistics, preferably in the renewable energy sector or construction sector.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in managing budgets, supply chains, and operational workflows.
- Familiarity with the energy sector, particularly off-grid solar solutions, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
