Background of Beacon Organization

Over this period, the organization has implemented a wide range of initiatives focused on livestock development, agriculture, governance, and election support, contributing significantly to the socio-economic and political advancement of the region.
Livestock Sector Engagement
Livestock is the backbone of Somaliland's economy, and Beacon Organization has been at the forefront of supporting this critical sector. Over the past decade, Beacon has implemented numerous projects aimed at improving livestock health, productivity, and market access for local farmers and pastoralists. Key achievements include:
• Veterinary Services: Establishing mobile veterinary clinics to provide health services to livestock in remote areas.
• Capacity Building: Training farmers and pastoralists on modern livestock management practices, disease prevention, and breeding techniques.
• Market Linkages: Facilitating connections between local livestock producers and regional markets to enhance income generation.
• Drought Response: Implementing emergency livestock feed and water programs during droughts to protect livelihoods.

Election Support

In addition to its development programs, Beacon Organization has played a pivotal role in supporting democratic processes in Somaliland. The organization has been actively involved in election-related activities for over 5 years, working to promote transparency, inclusivity, and civic engagement. Key contributions include:
• Voter Education: Conducting nationwide campaigns to educate citizens on their voting rights and the importance of participation in elections.
• Capacity Building for Electoral Institutions: Providing training and technical support to the National Electoral Commission (NEC) to enhance their operational efficiency.
• Election Observation: Deploying domestic and international observers to monitor elections and ensure free, fair, and credible processes.
• Conflict Mitigation: Implementing peacebuilding initiatives to reduce election-related tensions and promote dialogue among stakeholders.
Beacon's efforts in the electoral sector have strengthened Somaliland's democratic institutions and contributed to the region's reputation for holding peaceful and transparent elections.
Mandatory Documents:
- Provide a certified copy of a valid business license.
- Provide a certified copy of a tax clearance certificate.
- Demonstrate relevant experience in poultry supply and management, supported by documented evidence such as previous contracts, client references, or project records
- Certificate of Chamber of Commerce (If available)
- Certificate of Local Municipality (If available)
Technical Specifications:
• The poultry must consist of native breeds originating from Somaliland.
• The necessary young hens and roosters should be in robust health, highly productive, exhibit excellent physical condition, and be free from any injuries, wounds, or deformities. Additionally, they should not have undergone de-beaking.

• The age range for indigenous young hens and roosters should be between 7 to 12 months.
• Upon delivery, the supplier is required to furnish a health inspection certificate endorsed by the regional veterinary officer.
• The bidder is accountable for the transportation, loading, and unloading of the poultry.
• Additionally, the Bidder must ensure poultry are acclimatized to local conditions, with transport vehicles having proper ventilation and temperature control. A detailed inventory, including breed, age, and health status, must be provided for record-keeping and monitoring.

The total poultry quantity includes 3,710 Indigenous Hens and 265 Indigenous Cockerels. Each beneficiary household (HH) will receive 14 Hens and 1 Cockerel, benefiting a total of 265 Households.
