Position: Temporary Physiotherapist Assistant -Keysaney Hospital
Job Grade: Band 2
Department: Keyseney Hospital
Location: Mugadishu-keyseney Hospital
Reports To: PhysiotherapyAssistant
Direct Reports: Program manager
Background:
SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organisation. It was established in April 1963 and became a legal entity following Presidential Decree No. 187 in 1965. SRCS has operated continuously throughout the country’s period of civil war and political divide and is credited for its unity as one National Society. It operates through a network of nineteen branches with activities spread across the country.
Overall, Job Purpose
The physiotherapy Helper will help patients with physical difficulties resulting from illness, injury, disability or ageing to improve their movement. The job holder is also responsible for devising and reviewing treatment programs using manual therapy (such as massage), therapeutic exercise and electrotherapy. As well as treating patients and promoting their health and wellbeing and providing advice on how to avoid injury and self-manage long-term conditions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Organise the sequences of the service users daily for the use of Gym materials.
· Observe and follow up service users when using Gym area materials for corrections and instruct them how to use.
· Prepare the patient weekly treatment plan following the instructions of the therapist
· Help the physiotherapists Treat patient following the treatment goals and treatment plan.
· Ensure the tidiness, cleanliness and proper arrangement of the treatment room/area that you are assigned.
· Prepare patient appoint and discharge plans
· Collaborate with other team members to manage clubfoot patients and casting patient.
· Remove cast from the clubfoot and non-clubfoot patients.
· Apply casting to clubfoot and non-clubfoot patients following professional training.
· Prepare cast and cast application materials prior the cast application
· Help service users’ wheelchair transportation from the car to the department and vice versa
· Prepare and write and the follow up plan of the Abduction braces for the club foot children
· Assist the parents instruct and show how to put on the abduction braces for the club foot children, and check if there are any problems.
· Put the service users on standing bed after prescription the physiotherapy staff
· Perform any other duties assigned by his/her superior
Reporting
· Generate daily and weekly activity report to report the major activities you performed.
· Collect day to day information and report to physiotherapy Assistants
· Report to the f physiotherapy Assistant any problem about equipment if there is need to repair or replace.

Skills and qualifications
Educational Qualifications & Professional Training:
· Secondary school Certificate or higher equivalent education desired.
· Good communication skills in Somali & English language
· Basic computer skills (Word, excel, power point)
