Contract Type: Full-time
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)

2. Purpose of the Position
The Business Development and Sales Officer is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, expanding market reach, and boosting the company’s revenue. This role involves both strategic planning and on-the-ground action much like a scout and a diplomat scouting new opportunities and negotiating valuable partnerships for Goodlight Energy LTD.
3. Key Responsibilities Business Development Duties
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, potential partners, and emerging industry trends.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and NGOs.
Propose new initiatives or product lines aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
Prepare detailed business proposals and feasibility studies for new ventures.
Participate in industry events, trade fairs, and business networking forums to promote the company’s services.
Sales Duties
Develop and implement sales strategies that align with business goals.
Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and offer tailored energy solutions.
Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and technical overviews.
Negotiate contracts and close deals that contribute to the company’s profitability.
Maintain strong relationships with key customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Track sales performance and report on progress against targets.
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or client management.
Solid understanding of the energy sector in Somalia and East Africa is an advantage.
Proven experience in identifying, negotiating, and securing business opportunities.
Strong networking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Ability to work independently and take initiative
Fluency in English and Somali (Arabic is an added advantage)

6. Working Conditions
Office-based in Mogadishu, with frequent field travel and client meetings.
May require flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on business needs.
