Position summary

Pharo Secondary School in Sheikh is seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems across the school campus, including student dormitories, staff housing, and general school facilities.

Reporting to: Head of Maintenance and School Administrator

Contract Type:  Fixed Term

Duties and responsibilities

•       Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water supply lines, drainage systems, toilets, showers, sinks, and fixtures.

•       Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and ensure they are functioning properly.

•       Perform routine maintenance to prevent future problems and emergencies.

•       Work closely with the maintenance supervisor and operations team to plan and prioritise plumbing tasks.

•       Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and ensure issues are resolved efficiently.

•       Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

•       Keep records of materials used, repairs completed, and inspections carried out.

•       Assist the maintenance team as a handyman with other responsibilities when not engaged in plumbing repairs

•       Carry out any additional maintenance or labour duties or tasks as requested by the Head of Maintenance or School Administration.

•       Provide support with other boarding-related duties as required, and perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the school administration.

Skills and qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

•       Certificate or diploma in plumbing or a related field from a recognised institution.

•       Proven experience (minimum 3 years preferred) in plumbing installation and maintenance.

•       Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to plumbing work.

•       Ability to read technical diagrams and follow instructions.

•       Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•       Good communication and teamwork skills.

•       Physically fit and able to work in different conditions.

•       Previous experience working in a school or institutional setting is an advantage.
