JOB DESCRIPTION

Position title: Quality Control 

Department: Quality Assurance

 Reporting to: Quality Assurance Manager

 Location: Berbera

Responsibilities:

• Incoming Raw materials inspection, storage and issuance; Carry out quality assessment for incoming ingredients, packaging materials, auxiliary materials.

o   Assess their storage condition and issuance to production

• Process control; carry out assessment of non-finished products at each processing step and ensure they are within specification
• Evaluation of Finished product storage and release to the market- Microbiology analysis, physico-chemical analysis
• Managing and controlling non-conforming products and materials
• Good laboratory practices; stock taking of reagents and lab consumables
• Perform GMP audits regularly
• Evaluate customer complaints and feedback, evaluate trade returns
• Monitoring equipment verification and maintenance
• Management systems implementation; Food safety, Occupational Health and safety, Quality, Environment management Reporting; prepares daily, weekly, monthly reports
• Reporting; prepares daily, weekly, monthly reports
• Any other role that the management may assign from time to time.

Skills and qualifications

Qualifications

• Education; A bachelor’s degree in Food science or equivalent
• 2 years working experience in the same domain is preferred
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 
• Profound knowledge of quality control standards

Working conditions

§  Shift based

§  May be required to work at night

§  Expected long standing hours

§  May be required to work in chilling conditions and sometimes above average temperatures
