Job Vacancy: Experienced Accountant

Position: Accountant

Location: Innovative Humanitarian Solutions (IHS) Office.

Position Overview:

We seek a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with the ability to contribute to our mission of financial accuracy and integrity.

Financial Reporting: Admin and Finance person

Key Responsibilities:

·         Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

·         Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

·         Budget Management:

·         Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.

·         Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.

·         Tax Compliance:

·         Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with local regulations.

·         Stay updated on tax laws and advise on tax planning strategies.

·         Accounts Payable and Receivable:

·         Manage the processing of invoices and payments.

·         Ensure timely collection of receivables and maintain staff relations.

·         Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.

·         Provide necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.

·         Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support.

Skills and qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·         Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting.

·         Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

·         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Other Skills:

Computer Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Language Skills: Fluency in English and Somali; additional languages are a plus.
